I was flipping through my newest Autoweek and came upon an ad for the GTimer made by Escort. I don't know if this is new, but it's the first time I've seen it so I thought I'd put it out here...
There are two versions of the GTimer. The ad details the more expensive one, the GT2. It does a WHOLE lot more than the G-Tech. On every run, it shows you acceleration times (0-10, 0-20, 0-30, etc), maximum speed, braking, cornering, maximum HP, plus complete quater mile stats including 60 foot time, 330 ft, 1/8 mile, 1000 foot and trap speeds. This is on every run, no doing different runs to measure different things. There are other features but I'm not going to type them all out. I went to the website and they seem to only detail the GT2 as well ($249). They don't seem to give any info on the GT1 unless I'm missing it, but it's likely about the same as a G-Tech/Pro (you don't get complete quarter mile stats and complete acceleration data). The GT1 is $149. They plug into your cigarette lighter and mount on the windshield. The website is here.
And I just noticed, it stores ten runs in memory, and you can download data to your pc or laptop.
I know a few people have been asking about the G-tech, so I thought I'd throw this out there. It sure would be interesting to take one to the track and see how accurate those quartermile times are.
