  • 93 z28 tranny Q's

Someone please inform me of what the difference between the 92 z28, 93 z28 and 94 Z28's trannies are? My friend has a 93 Z28 but he isn't sure if its a 700R4 4L60, or the 4L60-E. The car comes with a tv-cable, so I was thinking it was not a 4L60-e but when I would ask tranny shop EVERYONE said that it was a 4L60-E....does anyone know

aren't the 700R4 and 4L60 the same thing? I know the E came in 94 to devote electronically controled, but I always thought 700R4 and 4L60 designated the same thing.

They are essentially the same thing, but I "believe" that the 4L60 is slightly more beefy than the stock 700R4.

          cool deal thanx,
my friend had installed a 700r4 into his 93. Bolted up fine but there was one part, some plug that had four holes to it and his needed 5
