  • TIRESS and rubber

i have a 97 firebird formula with no posi and burned my sumitomo htz zr-rated 17 inchers to the cord. I need new rear tires immediatly, but am unsure of what to get. I want a tire that Preforms amazingly on dry, i dont care about snow because i have snow tires i can switch. Rain is a factor but it doesnt have to be amazing. I was thinking possibly goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. It sounds like an amazing tire anda great price. Do you think this is a good tire to get or should i look into something else. If so what? Thanks in advance.

I didn't even know you could get even a base model firebird without a posi anymore.... anyway, BFGoodrich G-Force KDW's would be a good choice. They are on the expensive side but very good. Firehawk SZ50's are great but I keep hearing they aren't making them anymore. I don't really have any experience with other tires, so I can't comment about the ones you posted.

First, you need to reduce the size of the pic in your signature. It makes it harder for us with all the scrolling. Please keep it to a 10 line maximum.

As far as the tires, you can search at:

www.tirerack.com and compare all the available tires as well as read owner's reviews of the products.

I almost just bought Eagle F1's but instead I found a new tire that Bridgestone makes called Fuzion. They are new to the market and consequently introduced at a low price. I've read the reviews and they are great people seem to like them a lot. So far they are great on my WS.6 really good traction and they hug the road. But like i said I JUST got them, today infact. Look it up online and you'll find great reviews. They use them on "pimp my ride" all the time too.

The tire is Fuzion ZRi made my Bridgestone

        http://www.1010tires.com/tirereviews...del=Fuzion+ZRi

EDIT- It cost me $724 for all 4 tires, and installation.

The BFG "dry" traction tire is the g-Force KD. One of the best.

If you want exceptional traction, and don't drive in the rain, consider the Nitto 555R Drag Radials.

A guy at my local Bridgestone/Firestone shop actually recommened these as a fair comparison the the Firehawk SZ50s.

Nitto now makes a road race tire N555RII. I don't know anyone that is running these yet.?.

I run Kuhmo Victoracer's in autocross events.

well....let me re-phrase it: they are way overpriced for the performance you recieve. the shore A (rubber hardness) goes way beyond desirable traction limits after the first 10k miles.......or so. thats all i can legaly tell you.

Wolfman.....you always put us down (Goodyear). I don't know if you've had any personal experience with the F1 GS-D3, but I can tell you this. I've had at the VERY least, 12 Corvette owners come in with all diiferent year corvettes come into my store with tires like Bridgestones, BFG's, Kumho, etc. And they all have switched to the F1, and I haven't hear a single complaint yet. I don't know about you, but when someone comes back after a month of trying them out and tips you $100 just for suggesting to put them on. That's gotta be worth something. And I didn't even mount the damn things for him. And like all tires for Vette's, it is true that it offers no snow traction, but when I saw a Vette actually hook on em and run a 10.99, I'd have to say they are really good.
