O2 Sensor Failure Symptoms

I have what I suspect is an O2 sensor that is failing. The car is running lean, especially as it gets above 3000 RPM. There are no SES warnings thus far.

What symptoms have been experienced with failing O2 sensors?

It would be helpful to hook up a scanner and read the sensors in real time. A sensor on it's way out would often show slow or lazy cross counts before it triggers an 02 sensor code, soggy throttle response and usually a pig rich condition at idle.
