  • Fuel Pump Install

Some of you may remember helping me with installing a fuel pump. Well i finished it and it ran really well for about a week. Then It died on the high way. So i checked the spark, got shocked really bad and decided that the opti-puke didnt die. Took the fuel line off the filter and lots of fuel poured out. Then when i tried to start it no more came out. So im guessing something went wrong with the install. So anyways my question is can i have some instruction and pictures on doing the access panel. Im am not droping that tank again. It s*k*d. really bad. not sure if i can use that word mods so i put the stars in to be safe.

I have the same freaking problem. It isnt dead, but the car ran great for a week and now its doggin it again. I think maybe the line inside the tank is leaking or popping off. I was thinking about the access door too.

Ken, when I did it the first time, I didnt take the tank out all the way. I just dropped it down enough to get the sender out. That way, I didnt have to mess with dropping the diff down. The exhaust is a PITA though.

Here are a couple interesting articles on cutting the access area:

Some people are using the following Moroso product to install after the hole has been cut.

Here is a pic of the Moroso access door from underneath:

Both of my f-bods will be getting this for sure!
