  • Fan problem?

I don't know much about these 4th gen cars, so I would like to know if it's normal for the cooling fan to come on when the engine is at normal temp.
When it does come on it seems to stay on.
BTW I am assuming that normal temp is indicated as the first quarter mark.

The stock programming for the fans is first fan (or low speed in later models) on at 226degF, second fan on at 235degF (or high speed). When you turn the A/C on (or defroster) the fans run all the time. If you have an SES light, certain codes will cause the fans to run all the time.

Actually my SES light is on so perhaps that's it.
      Thanks for the reply.
On the SES side of things, I'm for a purge solenoid, an air pump and a new autobox filter and will let you know if they clear the codes.( the filter being a possible cause of the trannie pressure problem?)
