brights problem

  • brights problem

    sometimes when i try to put my brights on, they never come on. if they do, they don't stay on, it doesn't click in. anyone else have this problem??? is it easy to fix by myself???

    anyones help is welcome.

    do you mean that the switch never clicks over to make it change from lows to highs, and vice versa, or it clicks but they don't go to the high beams?

    if it's the second one, just replace the bulbs.

    also, have you done any headlight wiring modifications?

      It could be that the switch needs adjusted so the actuator rod depresses the plunger enough to switch. It is attached to the drivers side of the column just above the brake pedal. The switch is probably ok if the high beams will sometimes come on but not "click in".

        Here is a picture of the switch.

        Note the switch mounting plate is slotted. If those screws were loose, it would slide down the shaft and not fully engage.
