thats what the numbers showed. im real familiar with the hawks and slp cars from thier conception in 1991. that acceleration time was given to the car by SLP Engineering as tested by them...so..put 2 and 2 together.... realistic... 5.2 seconds was more in line.
Thats still pretty quick for that year let alone now! Thanks wolfman.
yes..the brochures for our two slp cars, my now sold Comp T/A, one of 47 built in 97...and our 97 Hawk..came with no perf. claims and the hp was dropped, but only on paper. that was because insurance company's went into a tissy those years... so hp numbers were fudged and perf downplayed.
to give you an example... the 95 Firehawk and comp ta was dynoed and rated at 315hp at the flywheel. the stock 95 formula was rated at 275hp.
the 97 firehawk and comp ta was rated at 310hp flywheel.....yet...the stock motor was 285hp now due to dual cats and diff pcm setting..
the 95, 96, and 97's got exactly the same mods from slp.......so whats that tell you? hp should have been 325!.......
