  • Best Gears for Daily Driver

Any reccomendations on the best gears for a 1998 A4 Trans Am. The rear is currently stock. I hear 3.73s but some say 4.10s also. Thanx.

3.73 for an auto. Especially if it's a daily driver.

definatly 3.73's, i have em on my 01 SS and you can feel em when u take off but they are relatively mild when youre on the highway.

My next mod will be 3.73's for my A4. My big question is which company makes the quietest gears? Strange, GM, etc.
1997 T/A A4 - 3.23's, SLP 2800 stall, JBA headers, Hooker catback, Borla Y-pipe, SLP CAI, Ported and descreened MAF, LT4 KM, 160 thermo, HPP+, TB bypass, SFC's, STB, 17X9.5 AR Torque Thrust II's, BFG KDW

i got richmond just because i knew id be doin some heavy modifying, richmond are real strong but make a howling noise when decelerating, i put a few extra shims in the rear end and its perfectly quiet now. GM's are quite and hold up fine, just not for a WHOLE lot of power.
