      no they were not! not regular production.

        thats a 25th aniv. tA. not a firehawk. thats a regular GM offered TA for that year. alterations were not done by slp engineering.

          As Ken said...this is not a Firehawk. He added a Ram Air styled hood. The problem is...it's not functional. Notice the lack of Ram Air intake?

          Be careful...these cars had awful interiors. The leather on most of them is shot. The white is prone to cracking and yellowing. I've seen plenty with seats that looked ratty. Overall though...they are ordinary T/A's with a white leather interior. I wouldn't pay a premium for the embroidery myself, but that's my opinion. Price seems a bit high to me. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a 94...anniversary or not. For 13k, you can pick up a 98-99 T/A.

            What do you mean by proto's, Ken? I've seen a couple '94 Firehawks out here in IL.

            I got this from the F-body Faq,

            Firehawk - available as an upgrade to the Formula model starting in 1993. The package include a functional ram air hood scoop and reworked exhaust manifolds (starting in 1995) resulting in 305 HP and 335 ft-lbs of torque (300 HP and 325 ft-lbs prior to 1995). An optional freer flowing exhaust system brings HP to 315 and torque to 342 ft-lbs. The stock wheels and tires are replaced with 5-spoke 17" ZR-1 style wheels with 275/40ZR/17 tires. Hurst shifter and floor mats were available options starting in 1995. Bilstein shocks, stiffer rate springs/bushings, and a larger front sway bar make up the optional Level-II suspension which was an available option starting in 1996 along with a Torsen differential, up-level (Trans Am) spoiler, fog lamps, and car cover (all separate options). "Firehawk" badges replace the "Formula" badges on the front fenders and rear bumper. Badges are also added to the front-lower doors. Stickers showing the HP rating were placed on each side of the hood scoop from 1993 to 1995. All cars were shipped as stock Formulas to Street Legal Performance (SLP) Engineering where the above modifications were made through 1997. After that, GM made the modifications on its own assembly line. Production is limited: 1993 = 250, 1994 = 500, 1995 = 1,000, and 1996 = 500. Twelve 1994 Trans Am GTs were shipped to SLP as pilot cars and were equipped with the Firehawk setup, of which two are 25th Anniversary convertibles and three are 25th Anniversary hardtops. Some of these pilot cars also had headers installed bringing them up to 325 HP (although it's more like 340 HP). Because of late production (est. 7/98) the Firehawk was not available as a 1998 model, but as a 1999 model.

              #the 25ths never got sold to the public as ive been told. a couple of yellow ta hawks made it into the hands of the public though, as did others. these are the "proto's".....prototypes...."pilot cars".

              ##BS. ......it was not because of late production, slp did not want to build it because GM restricted the number of hawks they could build. i know, one of my best friends had one ordered and we dug "inside" to find out why the hawks got cancelled.

                A Ken pointed out, GM did not offer the 25th anniversary package on the regular production Firehawk. This car was modified by someone other than SLP. Nicely done and GM should have done it but didn't. One pilot example is the coupe that paced the 1994 Daytona 500 that is still owned by GM and didn't have the ram air hood. There are several 25th clones with ram air running around, one was in GMHTP a few years ago that pretty much sums up everything in this thread. The 25th Firehawks could not even be ordered from GM, if you had tons of dough you might have gotten lucky and picked up a pilot car.

                    There's only 11 in existence now. A friend of mine had one, a red T-top, and it was totalled by another friend of ours. He mysteriously has come up missing and is on milk cartons all over the globe

                    Here's what it used to look like:

                      Question to seller, and his response:

                      =========

                      QUESTION:

                      "Do you have SLP documentation and build tags to verify that this is in fact an SLP-built Firehawk conversion, on a true 25th Anniverary T/A?"

                      RESPONSE:

                      "Sorry to be misleading, I never said it was a Firehawk, I just keyed that in to get better results from people looking for this caliber of car. Sorry for the confusion, as to my knowledge SLP at that time would only do Formulas and would not do a Trans Am. , thanks"

                      =============

                      Sort of clears up that mystery

                        Now that I looked at the pics again, I think we all missed the Firehawk emblems on the car and just saw the Firehawk hood and assumed it was, at least that's what got me.

                          the first thing i noticed was the wrong intake. it is the fipk from k&n not a ram air box. last i checked slp sis not ship out ram air cars that where not ram air. i would look out with this car. it has a lot done to it already whioch is a good and a bad thing. good because ou do not have to buy the parts. bad because you do not know who installed them. the guy at the pontiac dealer or the guy who is trying to sell a anneversary t/a as a firehawk!

                            People "wondered" if it was a Firehawk because he included the following in the listing:

                            Pontiac : Firebird TRANS AM
                            1994 TRANS AM WS6 FIREHAWK 25TH ANNIVERSARY RAM AIR
                            Apparently, he figured that would allow "key word" searches to land on his item.
