  • What would you do?

I've been working on an 87 TransAm project. It has the L98 tuned port 350 with an automatic. The Black exterior will remain the same complete with the 16" black center GTA wheels, it's the interior that is a problem. The interior was originally tan cloth. A previous owner has replaced the interior panels and rear seats with black cloth. The only thing that was left tan are the front seats, front and rear seatbelts, and a couple of small plastic trip parts near the rear hatch struts. Would you put it all back to stock (tan) or just replace the tan items to make it all black?

Make it black. Nothing cooler than an all black car...at least that's my opinion anyways.

Seems it will be cheaper to make it black.

Although it may cost more, I'd make it tan. I like a contrasting interior. I'd get some custom tan leather seatcovers and go with a new rug from ACC with custom matching embroidered floor mats..

I think i would do it in black, and have like silver highlights in certain area's. Maybe a silver firebird on the seats of something of that sort.

How about a killer pair of body-hugging Sparco or Corbeau race seats in black cloth.....

Definitely black. Any tan panels you have are easy replacements, you should be able to find them anywhere. The seat belts might be a little more difficult, as seat belts of that age should be replaced anyway. Me personally, I'd go with some racing harnesses. Same thing with the seats. You're not gonna find good condition seats of that age, and if you do somebody's gonna want a fortune for them.

I love black But I guess it matters more what you want to do with the car more than just simply picking a color. If its simply just a car your gona mod the hell outa sure go black, it will look cool. But If you like to keep the car as close to stock as possible go with the tan, even if it aint that nice of a color. I personaly want my car to be as close to stock as possible with a whole lota sweet sleeper mods. just my opinion.
