  • time slip form the track

hey i just was able to get up to the track and i got a 13.9 1/4 at 97.76mph

it is a stock 97 lt1 with 38,000 in the engine auto trans. the only thing done to it is an exaust and it is in a truck but it is about 3500lbs.

does anyone know what a stock 97 z28 does in the quater mile? i just want to see how it would match up
97 30 anniversary lt1 swaped into a 95 s-10, headman headders, highflow cats, dynomax ultra flow mufflers, getto rig intake haha http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/655505

A 1997 LT1 Camaro would run similar times. 13.7-13.9. Just curious, what kind of truck?

13.91 @ 97MPh is very good for a stock LT1. My best run (4 years ago) was a 13.98 @101MPh on my '94 with 3:73's and Ram Air.

I haven't taken it to the track since, this summer looks like a possibility.

I want to see images of this truck!

Yeah, you're right on track with stock LT1 Fbody times. Average is 13.7-14.2 Most fall right in the middle of that range. My vert ran 13.81 with a muffler, & CAI.

My best run when bone stock:

              60' 2.121
              1/8 et 9.0
              1/8 mph 80.097
              ¼ et 13.878
              ¼ mph 101.057

Being that it is in a truck, that might explain the slower trap speed. Areodynamics do play an important part.

Interesting tech bit in the new Road & Track on the aerodynamics of leaving the tailgate up or down. Surprisingly, only one particular Ford truck showed reduced drag with the tailgate down. Most had higher drag coefficients with the tailgate down, and it got even worse if you removed the tailgate completely. The big drag reducer was a tonneau cover.
