Hi guys,
Just a question for a newbee, I have seen a performance mod that blocks off a resonator in the intake elbow.
Firstly what is a resonator for and also what performance loss does it induce?

Appears you have a 4th Gen LT1, and are looking at the tube that hangs off the inlet elbow, in front of the throttle body. It is a "silencer", to reduce intake noise. It has no adverse affect on performance. Removing the tube completely does make it easier to remove and install the elbow.

The 1LE option included an inlet elbow without the silencer tube. You can pick one up for less than $50 from online GM parts sources.
