  • removing cats?

I'm getting a magnaflow catback exhaust system. How do I remove the cats and run this system? Do they make a pipe to go from the header to the Y pipe? How exactly is this done? Any pictures?

Is a "cat back" system not ment to be put on from the cats back? without removing the cats? and arent us polution laws very tight about that stuff? thought you couldn't take off the cats down there.

Yes, a cat back should go from the catalytic converter back to the tail pipe. You would have to buy a "off road" y-pipe to get rid of your cats or weld a pipe inplace of them.

There are a few counties/states that do not require emisions testing.

As has been stated, a cat-back does not replace the cats, it bolts up to the back of the cats. The exhaust system consists of the following parts:

          headers or manifolds
          y-pipe
          cat(s)
          Intermidiate pipe
          over-the-axle pipe/muffler/tailpipe

In a cat-back system, you get all the pieces listed after the cat(s). You can get headers to replace your manifolds, and a high-flow y-pipe to take the two sides of exhaust down to one, and high-flow cats are also available. As was mentioned, you can get an offroad pipe to replace the cat(s) so your exhaust can dump out before travelling back the intermidiate pipe to the muffler.

I know there are countries without testing as I live in one
I feel they will probaly start testin in the next 5 years but my province will be the last one to get it, as we have oil refineries that make more in smog in a day than all the cars in the local area make in a year.

              he said counties, not countries

each state in the US is divided into multiple counties....some whole states do not require emissions testing, while in other states, some of the counties do not require testing while others in the same state do. my county does not require emissions testing.
