Gm's Sweedish subsidiary has developed this "ingenious" device...........
an electronic keyfob with a built in alcohol detection sensnor. if the drivers breath doesn't pass the muster, it renders the key useless..........
it works like dis: a semi conductor is implanted in the key fob and set by the factory to a pre determined blood/alcohol level limit (here's a prob...many states differ). before starting your car..you have to blow into a tube that runs thruough the bob. if the sensor detects an acceptable alcohol level..a green light appreas the and the key will start the motor... if your trashed....a red light apears and key is disabled.
of course... whats to keep the boozed dude from snaggin some passerby..or ayone..thats sober...whatever...and have them blow into the tube
the one thing the fob wont have, the sweed's assured..is a memory chip... yikes.. that would be evidence eh?
will it ever make it to commercial sales? who knows. id like something more bullet proof myself.
happy fried-day...
