  • 87 T/A headlight gremlins

Project 87 has got a few bugs that I'm working out. This one has me wondering.

The headlight motors harnesses had been disconnected and the lights left manually up. I lowered them, hooked them up and nothing. I heard a faint click somewhere so on a hunch, I raised them manually. I turned on the headlights and turned them off. The motors brought the lights down perfectly. Turned them on and nothing. Anyone ever run into this?

On my 84 I had a similar situation, went as far getting another assembly, when it came to installation I noticed a second plug disconnected on the original assembly, connected it and it worked. I dont about the 87 wiring, but the 84 had two plugs for each headlight assmebly.

in mid 85 they changed the wiring for the headlights I had a simular problem with my 89 and it was a grounded out wire in the harness.
