on my car i have the keyless entry, when i lock the car both sides of the car lock, but when i unlock the car the right side stays locked. it makes a noise as if the car was trying to unlock but doesnt. any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix this?

Are you sure you don't have to press the unlock button twice. On all of my cars I have to press the unlock button once to open the driver's door and then a second time to open the passenger door.

But if your is not like this, it is probably an actuator going bad. These can be easily replaced.

      Exactly.... from the Owner's Manual:

"The driver's door will unlock automatically when "UNLOCK" is pressed. If "UNLOCK" is pressed again within five seconds, the passenger door will also unlock......"

pushing the buttom twice is not the problem, its always unlocked both when pressd once. by pressing it twice it relocks the driver door.

ill see what i can do with the actuator, thanks

Do you have the GM keyless lock, or do you have an aftermarket alarm system with integrated remote lock?

the car was owned by a cop before me, i think they put it in. also the car did not have power locks before the door locks/alarm was put in. so im not really sure how they set it up, but they have lose wires and and extra wires running everywhere.

ok im confused now. i havent done anything to the car and now it is working again. could a wire that was not connected good be a reason that it is now working again? thats the only thing that has been done, was moving wires. so should i just be happy it works again or should i be looking for something esle that could cause to to mess up again.

I would almost guaruntee it is a loose wire.

If the door pnl is rubbing on the manual buttons shaft that will prevent the actuator from completely unlocking the door. I have seen this on a couple of cars in the past.
