Although I can say that I have a similar story. I just got the tranny in
and the wife and I were going to Wally World and I got on it just a little, about 65 (in a 55) and look up to see the shades of Blue. As I handed the info over he angrily asked "What the he** is your hurry" I too said "just got it back on the road" he took my stuff walked back behind my car and came right back. He asked my wife if she approves of my driving and she just shook her head 
to which I replied "No officer, I will be hearing this on for the next week". He let me go with a "Slow it down" and a slight grin.
