  • Best lowering springs

I want to lower my T/A but dont konw which springs to buy. The MAC lowering springs are $180 and the Eibach drag launch kit is $240. I have heard alot of good things about the Eibach's but am not sure of y there is a 60 dollar difference. Is it just the u pay more for the name or what. How long does it take to install springs. How much shlould the install be? I currently have Nitto's and a 3..73 gear and i still cant hook worth a crap. I cant afford alot of suspension work cuz I am saving up for a GSXR 750 for next summer.
    Thanks
    Tom

Careful..... you're starting to mix parts. Lowering springs and drag launch springs are two different animals. Lowering springs are just that. They lower the ride height. Drag launch springs are specifically designed to help the car hook on a launch, they are not lowering springs. If you want Eibach, go with the pro kit. That is a 1.2-1.5 inch drop.

My understanding is if you lower your car without using the LCA relocation brackets you will make your launch worse.

Here is a kit that will lower your car without making it worse. I know it is more than you want to spend at $360 but it is all the parts you need to do it the right way (except front tie rod ends for lowered cars). It includes springs, relocation brackets, and adjustable panhard rod to center the rear end after lowering it. Go to http://www.bettercart.com/store/go?s...t&product=1470 and scroll down to F-Body Lowering Package.

      The kit includes the following
      springs http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F-body...on.htm#springs
      relocation brackets http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F-bodyDrivetrain.htm#cab2
      panhard rod http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F-body...tm#panhardrods

Here is a car lowered with their springs.

You will have horrible traction issues if you do not get the relocation brackets. Click on the angelfire link in my sig for pictures of mine. It has the pro-kit on it. If you go to this thread it shows the brackets and such that I used. The install was around 100 or so if I remember correctly. It was done while I was overseas.

Yes you are defiantly going to want to run the relocation brackets after you lower it if you plan on hooking up. It is fine to drive with out them but not good for traction issues. I run the Pro-kit right now, it has a very nice stance and a good look for me. It seems most pro-kits do sag in the rear on the F-Bodies, mine does do this but not enough to notice with your eyes just if you exactly measure. DMS and Hotchkis make an excellent spring as well and I have never seen in sagging issues with them. I am sure they are priced more but might be worth it. If money is an issue you can get a Pro-Kit on ebay for $179.00.

If you would like any more info on the relocation brackets or Adjustable panhard bar I would be glad to help you out.
