  • Low Traction Light

When I start my car there is a low traction light that comes on. What is it for? The light never comes on no matter how many hundred feet I smoke 'em? Is it supposed to do something?

There is a switch on the console in front of the shifter that doesn't appear to do anything. Is that for the traction control?

My low traction light will come on during braking when a wheel tries to lock and the ABS kicks in. If your is on all the time, I wonder if you have an ABS problem. (My car does not have traction control. Just ABS.)

Yes the low traction light comes on when the ABS system senses a wheel lockup under hard braking. As long as it is not staying on you should be fine.
