Maxxis International, Inc........GM is pushing them into the full-size original equipment marketplace in 2006. Maxxis light truck tire, size LT 225/75r16 will be the O.E. tire on a GM vehicle in the third quarter.
Iv'e seen this "venture' before in the automaker/tire industry "partnership".
See... Maxxis used to be "Cheng Shin Rubber Industrial"... they got their start years ago by making ATV tires........and industrial tires for fork lifts and stuff.
GM gave them a chance by giving them a contract supply tires to Shanghai General Motors.
I'm sure Maxxis is given the General an awesome price for this chance and getting recognition as a mainstream tire supplier in the global marketplace.
Wanna know what I would do if I took delivery of a GM truck in the 3rd quarter of 2006 with athe Maxxis tire on it?????????
I'd watch those tires like a hawk on a crippled chicken folks.
It's a Taiwanese tire maker thats brand new to all this.....get my drift?
