  • 95 camaro z28 conv 1/4 & 0-60

ive searched everywhere and i cant find this info,
does anyone know the 95 z28s stock 1/4 mile and 0-60 times?
the 94's z28 conv times are supposedly 6.2 - 14.5, which kind of freaks me out

also does anyone know how much it weighs?

thx for any info you can give me

stock times have been puplished from 5.7 to 6.3 0-60, stock 1/4 mile times from 14.0- 14.6, speed between 97 and 101.

All this depends on weight (3500 average loaded, as light as 3150 empty) , whether it is an auto or stick, driving skills, track conditions and whether you have a faster or slower example. As you can see, alot of variables. Some could be quicker, some slower, ya never know til ya run.
My 97 WS6 clocked a best stock time of 13.87, but it seemed to be one of the quicker stock cars.

Some weight info from the 'net:
      Option weights for 1995 models:

The following weights were taken from the 1995 MVMA specs. (All weights in pounds). Thanks to Dave Emanuel (DFE1@aol.com).

      - - - - - - - - - - - Curb Weight - - - Shipping Weight
      Camaro coupe - - - - - 3251 - - - - - - - 3171
      Camaro convertible - - 3342 - - - - - - - 3262
      Z/28 coupe - - - - - - - 3390 - - - - - - - 3310
      Z/28 convertible - - - - 3480 - - - - - - - 3400

      Differential Weights of accessories:

      6-way power seats - - - 7.9
      Remote lock control - - - 0.4
      Power door locks - - - 1.8

      Remote trunk release - - - 1.3
      Rear floor mats - - - 1.8
      Body side mouldings - - - 1.8

      1LE - - - 7.0
      Bose Speakers - - - 7.0
      AM/FM w/CD - - - 0.4
As you can see, your convertible weighs 90# more than the equivalent coupe, and only 78# more than a T-top car. That means, using generally accepted rules of thumb (always dangerous around here) that you would be theoretically be 0.8 MPH and 0.11 seconds slower than an identical coupe.

Don't go by the road tests in the popular magazines. I've seen the same car tested in the same month by 3 different mags, and end up with a difference of as much as a 1/2-second in 1/4-mile time. The track is the only place to find out.

Convertibles can be very quick :
