I know the feeling. Just got back from the coast for a little R&R. Knocked back a few coldies and watched the babes.

We took my Tahoe down there and it was pretty fun. A lot of the beach was pretty loose sand and there were a bunch of people getting stuck... even 4x4's. Every time I would get close to someone that was stuck, they would see my truck and flag me down. I pulled our three trucks in all.

what kind of tires do you have on er? as you know, for sand..thats makes all the diff in the world to have smooth tread and high floatation.

They are 35x12.50 ProComp X-Terrains. I never even had to use 4 wheel drive so I guess these are pretty good in the sand. Next time we go down to Padre Island we are going fishing down at a spot called Big Shell. Before you get to Big Shell, there is a big sign that says "4x4's only". The sand gets really deep and loose at that point. That will put em to the test! Man can't wait to bring home some Snapper and Amberjack. Love that stuff!

I had a 90 fullsize Bronco with 38" Super Swamper TSLs and I could go through some really loose sugar sand even in 2WD. Only once did I have to use 4wd to get out of sand and I had dug the rears in so much I was sitting on the axle. It was a fun truck. Miss the old 4x4 sometimes but I don't miss the 9-12mpg though

some pretty heavy duty cleats on them pups man. you get in some soft sand..and you might dig in. for the record, wev'e done alot of sand traction testing at sand mountain out in nevada. you can drop the pressure down to around 22 psi and pick up way more traction on those... be sure to pump them up before going over 35mph on the hard surface. i used to carry a 12 volt air pump with me...

                good tires dude!!!!!

Yeah, on the highway I keep em right at 48 psi. When we first pulled up to the beach entrance I let out 25 pounds keeping them at about 23 psi. Made a big difference I'm sure. I saw a few guys in F-350 4x4's with bigger shoes than me spinnin em like crazy in the deep stuff!

I was concerned about how these would do in rain and they are excellent. There is siping along each lug inside and out. I am pretty impressed with these ProComps. They are supposed to be good for about 40K so we will see.
