I have an appointment set for August 30th Thanks again!
N20LT4Bird- Sometimes i literally fantasize about working for GM. I'd love to do something like that but i have to stay local. I have my girlfriend here who's really the only person i have anything to do with now that my best friend Rich is going to dorm at some school in the city for college I really appreciate your offer though. Thank you! Well, i might not be able to make it for this semester in the community college that i applied to since i took so long so i may have the next few months off. I think i'll take that time to try learning some stuff about the auto body business from my dad's girlfriend's father (that's a mouthfull). Thanks again guys!

Wow, i was just thinking about this a few hours ago. Strange. Unfortunately, i just went and got a referral slip I have class tuesday through friday and work after that except for tuesdays where i'm in school from 10-5:15. Saturday Sunday and Monday, they always schedule me weird hours at work so i can't even make an appointment. I can't even take a day off since i need to make car payments and insurance payments so i need all the money i can get my hands on. I'll wait a bit until December when i get a full month off from school. Just the other day, my girlfriend swore that i promised to go with her to her aunts house for a party or something. I don't even vaguely remember telling her that even after i sat and tried to recall it for about 15 minutes. I haven't forgotten to do anything for college yet so there's no immediate threat. Thanks again for helping me out and thanks for checking up on me I'll tell you as soon as something happens.

Finally went to the neurologist She said that without a doubt, i have ADD and that (as Tracy's wife said) i more than likely have a partial seizure disorder as well. She said i'm really smart and i that i did a went thrugh a lot of the tests faster than other people. Only problem was that she gave me a pice of paper and told me to draw a clock. After i did that, she told me to set the hands to ten after eleven. It took me three times before i realized what the hell i was doing and did it right lol. That was embarassing. I have to go for a few tests and i need to go to a few other doctors before i'm fully diagnosed but for now, i'm good. Thanks for all the concern guys!

You are now 1 step closer to solving the problem.

            Congrats!!

Once they get a good diagnosis, they can give you treatment to make you feel better. I really hope that it is something that is corrected easily!

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Hopefully my little story can help with your decision on your career. 6 yrs. ago, I was applying to the Air Force Academy for a degree in Computer Engineering. Well, if I wasn't overweight (kept me from doing the pull-ups and doing the running fast enough), I would have made it in. However, I wouldn't have met Craig, I wouldn't have met my current g/f and definitely I would not have met any of you guys. I would still love to have a military career, but I love where I'm at too. Anyways, I went on to Cal. State Hayward, since it was close to my home where I initially wanted to be a programmer, thus the CS degree (which I won't get till March ). I was gung-ho on it...until I started doing MIS/IT. After doing this for 2+ yrs., I love it. Its definitely challenging, even frustrating at times (as I'm sure some of you can attest to), but I enjoy it. Won't pay as much in the long run, but I'm happy with the job. Now, I work for a small church over in Fremont (90-100 networked machines, 60+ users). Doesn't pay near what I could get out in the open market, but I love working with my boss and my other coworkers and will be depressed to have to move on, but happy at the same time. The underlying point behind all this is this...do what you feel you will be happy doing. I love working on the Z, the Jeep and esp. the GN. Would I do it for a living? No way, couldn't stand dealing with all the people. Would I help my friends and family? Most definitely, I don't mind using my talents to help others. What should you do? That's something only you can answer. Even when you make a choice, you may find something even better along the way. Keep your mind and your heart open, you'll find your way. If you're a believer (as I am), pray about it...you'll be shown the way. If you have no clue what to do, then just spend some time to find out. My g/f didn't finally decide what she wanted to do until mid-last year...and there's nothing wrong with that. You're still young, so take your time before making this kind of decision. The only one who will truly rush you is yourself, so don't feel you're under the gun. You can always change majors during college and even going with Undeclared isn't a bad thing. Take your time, you'll make the right choice. I hope everything is ok with you medically and look forward to hearing more good news. Take care. I hope this helped.

Right now i'm going to school for psychology. I took a psychology class and i'm now in sociology. The only thing that bothers me is that i only got a B in psychology If i could only freakin bring myself to study!
I'm also taking an anatomy class just in case i decide to switch over to physical therapy. I don't think manual labor is my thing. As far as doing automotive stuff for fun- Absolutely! I was just thinking last night about buying an 81' T/A and gutting it completely ( I found one in Special Interest for $1,000 OBO). Use that to learn and then drop a 454 in it or something rather than the turbo 4.9. A turbo charged 4.9 liter V-8 that only put out 150 horsepower...ugh. They're real heavy but i'm sure i could drop tons of weight off of it and set it up to be something awesome. I love the way the t-tops and the exhaust look on those cars . I'd need somewhere to do all of this but it would be a blast. Thanks again guys

hey Nightrage, i'm ADD, one month older than you, and attending college for my major in law enforcement. Now if your disorder effects you like mine does me, you will be too stubborn to fail at your dream and find someway to achieve your degree. ADD makes your mind run at a faster pase, and if the world around you is going to slow than broaden your focus. If an instructor drops anchor and sticks on a subject and you feel your mind wondering, work on other subjects. ADD isnt just a curse; besides being great at video games and a good joke teller, your mind is working at a speed that may be hard to channel. When you learn to harness that rapid thinking you will be able to achieve great things; 'enlightenment'.

"He who finds the strength in a flaw, will no longer find it to be a flaw!"

I hope this helps. Good Luck.

Thanks again. Perfect timing actually. I just got the EEG stuff slapped on about an hour ago I'll try and get a picture tomorrow but i doubt i'll be able to as the only person i know with a digital camera is my grandma and i might not see her tomorrow. Comes off on Thursday. Can't use a cell phone or go near a microwave. Guess i'll just sit here playing video games as i can't go to school tomorrow. All i'd need is some dumb stoner to make a comment and i'd more than likely flip out on him since i have a seething hatred for potheads (and i'd say 80% of my shool smokes pot ).

Maverick_82- all joking aside, i think you might be thinking of schitzophrenia. A lot of the time, their minds run too fast to be able to compute everything and starts to malfunction so they become schitzophrenic. My ADD just prevents me from concentrating on pretty much anything. It doesn't matter how interesting or boring it is, i just can't concentrate. For me it's just that, an attention defacit. The harder i try to concentrate, the more my mind wanders. I'm not very good at telling jokes either Speaking of video games however, i'm off to beat Chrono Trigger for the 100th time Thanks again guys

I know that it can be impossible to work, every discouraging and distracting thought pops into your head. One time in the tenth grade, while working on science home, i made a rap involving Einstein, eminem, and Fred Flintstone; NOW THAT'S MESSED UP, lol. When my adderall wears off I literally can't remember what i did in my classes. I somethimes get into situations that if i put off something any longer it will not even be accepted by the instructor. Using that to threaten myself, i work but very slowly. Taking five hours to do things that would take me mere minutes

But about the speed of thinking, that's why testing has shown that excessive watching of television can increase the effects of ADD, because the mind expects the world to run at the same pace as a television show. When the world doesn't, the mind gets bored. I'm not too sure of this, but this has been tested a few times and they haven't discredited yet.

By the way, what is Chrono Trigger, i'm unfamiliar with that game.
