    alright the other day i was driving my 94 z28 when it started to sputter and backfire and totally lose power. I have AAA so i had it towed to my mechanic and he said that it is the distributer. I was wondering if this is the same thing as the opti-spark everyone talks about and if theres a way to get one online since we tried 3 aftermarket ones that didnt fit and one from GM is $680

    The Opti-spark IS the distributer, + the optical crank/cam position sensor.

    Call Jason Cromer. Search for his name on this board, and you will find his phone number. Ac-Delco complete unit, cheaper than any other I have found.
