  • Lower control arm brackets?

How hard are these to install, do you need anything special to install

I can weld good (doesn't look great but strong). How do they install do you just bolt them in and then weld them in place?

I belive they bolt on. And welding to the body is touch as its only 22 guage metal. If you burn through you can light the back seats on fire.

Sorry was thinking of somthing different
    Disregard my comment.

The LCA brackets don't attach to the body sheet metal, they attach to the heavy steel brackets attached to the axle. You can buy "bolt-on" brackets from BMR. They use the through bolt that would normally support the stock LCA location, and go over the bolt for the lower shock mount. I'm not crazy about them, but they are probably OK for low HP applications.

The weld-on (I like Spohn Performance) are fairly simple, just a weld bead on each side to fasten the relocation bracket to the axle bracket. Just have to make sure the relo bracket is firmly against the axle bracket before you weld. The stock through bolt will hold it in place while you weld, and remains in place after you weld.

I believe you are referring to the LCA brackets for the axle side, yes most need to be welded to the axle tubes but BMR has bolt in versions in which I have and have had no probs.

I have the BMR bolt-ons. The install didn't take very long at all. An hour at the most, the most challenging part of it was getting them torqued with the torque wrench, not a whole lot of room with the lift i was using.
