I need to replace my front bumper and i was going to buy a new one off ebay. It is red though. I don't know what i should have done to have it done. Around how much would it run to have it stripped, primed, painted that gm hypersilver and clear coated. I know it all depends on the shop, but any estimates would be greatly obliged. And also how hard is to install the bumper my self.

I'm not to much of a help when it comes to quotes, but to judge the install, since it is going to be replaced anyways, take your old one off yourself, and that will give you a clue as to how the new one will go on. I cant remember if there is a mount behind the fenders that might be hard to get to, or if you have to take the fenders off. It seems from what I recall, it is mainly the body clips on top near the core support and on the underside near that splash gaurd looking thing is.

I've had the nose off my Z... It was pretty easy. Just take off the splash panels and air dam. Then remove all the plastic rivets along the top and bottom. The final hurdle was the little brackest that fasten the nose to the fenders and a couple screws going into the headlight bar from below. I got them from underneith fairly easily and then the nose came off.

I'd like to get mine repainted in the spring too, so it looks nice and fresh. That might be a winter project to strip it myself, and toss it in the back of the van to have my buddy paint it.

I just had my 89 nose done and it cost me C$350.00 to be painted in black and silver two tone. I removed it myself and they had to paint the silver on with the nose mounted on the car to get the lines to match. I would think a strait one color spray could be had for $150-200 US as long as they use good paint and clear, and you mount it on the car yourself. Personally I like sikkens paint the best.
