Turbo selection is going to depend on many factors:
    1. Engine displacement
    2. Intended engine rpm
    3. Converter stall speed
    4. Gearing
    5. Vehicle weight

    and so on.

We'll need a little more info as to what your goals and expectations are.

When I first saw this, I thought he was talking about a transmission. Then I read it and said no he's talking engine.

Anyway I knew a guy who had a 350 in I think a 87 S10. It was flat out dangerous. It got no traction under any circumstance. If you were in a slight turn at 60mph and punched it, it would come around on you. You didn't even have to floor it for it to break loose. You can't use the power in that chassis. Turbo charging it is just a waste of money in my opinion. Save your money because a turbo for it will run you at least $4000.

Rather than spending thousands puting a turbo setup on an old truck, why not spend the dough on a better overall vehicle?

Yea like you could get an early LT1 for the cost of a turbo setup.

A friend of mine bought a V8 s10 in high school that had a 383 stroker. The guy he bought it from had been running high 11's with it with a different top end- thats probably as fast as you'd want/need to go without major overhaul of the vehicle

-I'd spend my money on a stroker small block- the guy claimed the motor he built cost ~$5000 -way less than any buildup +turbo
