  • I think I am getting a CAR!!!!!!

I was really nervous that I might not be able to find a daily driver before winter hit, but something fell into my lap today that may just be too good to pass up...

a 2001 Cavalier LS with 20,000 miles on it...

    ... $500 down, $140 a month on a 4 year BUY!!!!

The car is loaded, 2.2 L ECOTEC, CD, cruise, power everything...

Yeah, I know it's a Cavalier (and I hate j-boides), but this is something I just can't pass up! It will make a fine daily driver, and I GET TO KEEP THE TRANS AM!!!!!!!!

I am going to the dealer after work tonight, and I think I will be buying it as long as everything is on the up and up
Former Ride: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 345 rwhp, 360 rwtq... stock internally.

    Current Ride: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited - spec.B #312 of 500

Jay, you might be able to find something even cheaper if you take your time and look around. Granted, you might have to settle for higher mileage.... I don't know if I'd take that deal on the cavelier....

If I were to get a daily driver, I would get the new Celica GT's. Not only are they sporty, but they come in 6-speed!

So basically you are buying this car for $7220.00.... I checked KBB.com and the cars Private Party value is $6500.00... If you are going to really buy it, I wouldn't give them more than that, and then save the $500 for yourself to pay for taxes and registration. I never let the car dealer do it, they over charge you. Also, watch out for the $50 paper work fee.... Before you know it, the car will be up to $7400.00, and your payment will be 3 to 4 dollars more a month. This is how they get ya. After saying all that, if you are interested in a J-body, check out my car. It is up for sale by chance. I posted it at Autotrader.com....

I'm buying it from a friend of mine at the dealer who is taking care of me. Known him since I was 12 and played on the same soccer teams together... not too concerned about being taken for a ride...

Plus $140 a month is nothing and this car is definitely not a "beater". It is a "daily driver".

Well, good luck buying the car. If someone was to buy mine, you could finance for 5 years and the payments would be about $220 a month, or less, not to include you would have warranty. Anyway, I'm sure your friend will take care of you, but I would almost bet money that it will not be exactly $140.00.... Like somebody said before, I would look around a bit more, before commiting to anything. Sometimes finding the best deals, means having a little patience. Trust me, I know from experience. Good Luck on the car!

I decided not to put $500 down, so it is $150 a month.

                The car is at cost.

Hard to ask for a better deal than that.......

...as for $140 a month, Dave. I drive 24 miles to work and back every day, on back roads. No expressway, stop and go. With the Trans Am, I pay close to $250 a month in gas. I like my chances to almost pay for the payment on this car in gasoline savings alone.

                  The best news about this...

...is that I no longer have an excuse to keep the Trans Am "street friendly" ...

                  BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

500 rwhp next summer... here I come!!!!
