  • T-Tops

Gots a question for you all, or any one (depends on who knows).
I can't seem to find any info about this on the 'net, so I am hoping somebody here can help.
On average, how expesive would it be to have a '95 Firebird converted to T-Tops?

Can't really help you out on a price, but it seems like it would be pretty expensive and wouldn't be worth it. Though t-tops ARE really cool

That's the thing, I can never find an average price...it might be cheaper than what most think, cheap enough for me to actually do it......hhhhmmmm
My mission is to find a price for this.

When my passenger side t-top flew off at 110 i had to of course find a new one. I looked on ebay and found one and also found t-top kits for around 300, the other day i found some still on there so you might want to look into that.

paying someone to do it might be expensive and they usually dont want to warantee it because its not really suppose to be done. you can find kits on ebay and places like that. and tackeling the job yourself really wouldnt be that bad. the roof is pretty much set up for t tops, you just have to do it. If you have ever seen a hardtop with the roof fiberglass off you will think, dang it would be easy to do a t top conversion. here is the link to a site that has a pretty good writeup on it.

alot of people have done it, and i too am considering it. just take your time, and be carefull. you should be able to do it. i would suggest getting some weld in sub frame connectors.

Man I could never see myself hacking up my roof

I think t tops are pretty expensive if u buy them new or get replaced. Either around $700 for one or both, dont remember.

You buy the T-top "conversion kits" from junk yards that specialize in F-Bodys for a small fraction of what they cost new. Don't buy "new". Even if forced to buy any parts new, never pay GM dealer list price or anything near that. There our sources for new, genuine GM parts at about 50% of list.

A guy who used to be a regular here, but disappeared, Dave Wendland did the conversion on his car in a very short time. He has an excellent set of photos.
