I can't believe this.
How can any rational person believe this crap?
This is like believing Franklin Roosevelt knew about the Japanese plans to bomb Pearl Harbor, yet did nothing to avert it (see Day of Deceipt, by Robert B. Stinnett). [Great read. Lots of research and facts. Yet it is not true that we had completely broken the Japanese code, as was evident 6 months later during the Battle of Midway].
So, assuming what Jay's "evidence" says is true: Why?
To invade Afghanistan for no reason? For what purpose? A gas pipeline? The deal was cut -- and abandoned -- during the Clinton administration. Oil? Afghanistan has little or
. (And why not simply lift the sanctions on Iraq and get all the oil you want? Or better yet, take over Saudi Arabia since we already had the military on the ground there to do it?)
I've been around plenty long enough to ask this question of any conspiracy theory (ESPECIALLY the convoluted, intricate, complicated ones that require the complicity of dozens -- if not hundreds -- of individuals): Does this sound reasonable?
I mean, given the number of people who would have to be involved (pilots, ground crews, civilian air traffic controllers, upper levels of the chain of command, flight crews, foreign surveillance assets, eyewitnesses, and so forth), the planning, the resources, the timing, etc., could one reasonably expect to pull off such a thing and get away with it without someone spilling the beans.
Well, could you???!!!???
Sorry, but it doesn't pass the "reasonable" test. I'm surprised that anyone could take it seriously, much less the generally "reasonable" people who frequent this board.
