  • Why do GM turn signals suck!?

Is there anywhy to speed up the blinking on the turn signals???

    It's the normal tick.....tock.....tick....tock currently...

    I'd rather it be tick..tock..tick..tock

Oh, I also notice that my right signal blinks slower than my left...I replaced the bulb, but can't find the flasher moduale...is it in the dash cuz I can hear something click when the flasher comes on or off...

I just don't like the slowness...makes me feel like I'm driving a crapper...It's not my voltage if you guys are suggesting that...voltage is fine.

Any suggestions on speeding it up???

Yea get a relay type flasher. They are more consistent than the standard thermal flasher. They also won't change the flashing rate if a bulb go out or if you add more like with a trailer. You can also go to the LED bulbs if you use an electronic flasher.

          Two cures:

          1. don't use turn signals, keep everyone guessing.

          2. check the blinker fluid, must be low, but is expensive.

I agree with pete, turnsignals are for wimps! At least, that's what everyone around here must think, because no one uses them!

I've gotten to the age where I'm no longer required to use them per Florida State law.

The signal blinking slower is probably due to the ground. I've had problems with 3 of the 4 in the tail lights. Right where the ground plugs into the connector holding the bulb goes bad. Its a PITA to find the problem when it finally goes bad enough to make them not blink at all. I've kinda always wondered why I haven't seen more posts on here about this as often as its happened on my car I was starting to think it was just a common f-body problem.

He's right. Bad grounds cause all kinds of wierd electrical problems with voltage getting lost to the back side of the car or truck bed - it makes the tail & brake lights behave strange. Also, sockets can go bad and cause the same types of problems. If you can't establish a good ground thru the frame, run a big wire back there and fasten it with a star washer to a bare spot of metal.
