  • Header Install Question

    I have begun intalling my headers and everything has been going fine except the 5th bolt back on the drivers side was sheared off. I'm not sure how it broke but part of it is still in the head. What do you guys recommend to get it out. I would use an easy out but theres no way to fit a drill in there? What do you guys recommend doing?
    1994 Firebird Formula, M6, Fan switch, 160 thermostat, Pacesetter LT headers, Morosso CAI, TB bypass, True duals.

    Is there any of the bolt sticking out if so then try welding a nut to the end of the stud and turn it out

      If there isn't enough of the bolt sticking out that can be grabbed by either a stud or bolt remover, you have to drill and use an EZ out. If there is no room to drill, the head must be removed to do the repair.

        Yeah I was looking at it tonight and its about 1\8th of an inch into the block. I was thinking about getting a 90 degree drill but will probably just remove the head to do it. Any tips on removing the head? lol I now also have the drivers side manifold off and the passengers side is unbolted I just cut my finger up pretty bad tonight and decided to stop and go back at it monday. How hard is it to get LT's to fit in there?
