Hey guys I have a 91 RS with 3.1L V6. I recently changed the distributor seal, valve cover gaskets, cap, rotor, spark plugs, and 180* t-stat. After all this was changed I developed a bad miss and the car doesn't want to stay running after it warms up mostly between idle and 2000rpm. The oil pressure jumps erradicatly from high to low and the rpms jump 200-300. When I changed all the seals I had to remove the upper intake (both pieces). All gaskets were replaced with new fel pro gaskets and reinstalled correctly. Any ideas what this could be? There are no codes that came up either.

Did you check to make sure that the firing order of the plugs is correct? The problem you are describing sounds like it could be a vacuum leak or the IAC needs adjusting (if your 3.1 V6 has one, I'm not sure). I would double check the firing order and search for a vacuum leak. Sorry I'm not of much help.

If you can't get much help here, I suggest going to www.thirdgen.org and posting your problem in the V6 forum. They can definitely help you out there, if not here. Good luck.

I would check the IAC like Ben mentioned. I just had to replace mine and the idle was pretty irratic before I replaced it.
