13.99 and faster, you gotta wear a helmet. And yes, I was at NYIRP in Leiciester, NY.

ANyone have an educated guess as to what the car is making for horsepower?
Using this formula: HP from MPH (1/4 mile) = WEIGHT * (MPH/234)^3, and inputting 3700lbs and 122 mph trap speed, that would calculate to roughly 524 RWHP. Your car is capable of running a high ten with just a little weight reduction . Many f-bodies have broke into the tens with 500+ RWHP. Sounds like once you get your car to hook well you might be in for a surprise!

The spare tire and jack being taken out would make a difference, right? Do you drive it down there, or tow it down there? Or have some one else ride with you to take your slicks? If that's the case, throw the spare tire and stuff in the vehicle with the slicks.

Thats pretty cool. What kind of weight do you think id have to lose? What can be done without effecting the factory appearance of the car?

I drive it to and from the track. I use street legal tires, so I swap them before I head out. The only change I make at the track is tire pressure. One of these days im gonna at least buy a tow dolly for so I dont have to worry about breakage.....

Well that depends on whether you are talking about spending money or not. Assuming you would want to save some money, there are quite a few things you can do to lighten that puppy up without affecting the stock-like appearance.

First of all there is the big ones like spare tire and jack, front sway bar, front/rear bumper reinforcements, aluminum upper pan hard brace, etc..

Then there is always static weight transfer like moving the battery to the passenger spare tire well. This will aid alot in your traction and weight transfer at launch.

Here is a pretty infamous thread noting alot of weight reduction ideas and there corresponding weights in most cases.

Of course you can always shell out the dough for things like chrome-moly k-member, chrome-moly a-arms, and lightweight brakes.
