I have a 95z six speed with a bunch of mods. I have a moser rear end. I'm concerned that I am gonna hit 5th gear in quarter with nitrous. The car is mis firing a little in 5th gear at 5700-6200? rpms when i use nitrous. I try to shift at about 6200 in all gears. Should I put 3:73's in or will I be alright hitting 5th gear in a quarter mile? Does anyone have a similar setup to mine. Please help, I'd really appreciate it.

You need to provide a little more info about your setup. What mods? What in particular nets you a 6,200 shift point? What HP level? How much nitrous? What size tire? What sort of trap speeds have you seen so far?
My calculator shows with the 4.10's you will top out at 117mph with 26" tires and a 6,200rpm redline. Change to a 27" tire, and you're at 121mph. With the 26" tires and 3.73's you are up to 128mph. What kind of speeds do you think it will run?Fred

I haven't ran it at the track yet, but I am running a 150 shot with a Hossier QTP 27x10.5x15. I'm put 510rwhp down at 5800rpms. I have afr heads with a 224/224 duration .554lift with 1.6 rockers. I am running a 26 inch tire with similar mods......I trap at 122 mph at the end of 4th gear. I am running a 3:73 and personally would not go any steeper. You want to avoid shifting into fifth gear........96 WS6 Formula: Ram Air, 383 Stroker, Ported LT4 Heads and Manifold, 1.6 Crane Rollers, 58MM T.B., AS&M Headers, Borla Exhaust, Meziere Elec. Depending on the exact rollout of your Hoosiers, with a 3.90:1 rear axle ratio and considering your 6200 RPM limit, you approximately would max out at 127.75 MPH in fourth gear. This would be perfect as it would leave you a little room in case you wanted to go a little bigger on the juice one day.
