sorry i was unclear in the first post. Im going to be purchasing the LT4 hotcam package from www.samtaylor.com. I was wondering if there is anything besides this kit im going to need and if so what would it be. Also how difficult would this be to install. And if anyone has used this kit before what kind of results can i expect to see with the mods listed below and the hotcam package?

I bought the whole kit (cam, springs, retainers, etc...) from Dal Salbaugh last year and installed it in my '96 replacement engine. So far it seems like I've got more power, but then the '94 engine had 236k miles on it. I still have to reprogram the PCM to take advantage of the cam, but I want to do some more mods prior to the programing (headers, exhaust, and 4.10 gears).

personaly i think, the lt4 hotcam is outdated. I would go with a cc306 cam from comp cams. Because they require the same parts but stronger but u get more power output. The lt4 to run to full potential requires springs, lifters, and roller rockers along with a correct tune. You could get more performance out of a cam with a cc3060 cam with a performqnce cam like the cc306, Just my 2 cents, go with the cc306 just visit either the comp cams website or www.ls1speed.com it out.

You'll need the GM heavy duty timing chain, a vented opti ('96-'97) and a front timing cover to accomodate this mod. That's the unfortunate part about our '93-'95 f-body.

            The 95 opti is vented. The 93 & 94s weren't.

Oops, my mistake. But it doesn't matter for him anyways, he has a '94.
