i called mary from the cell and told her to take cover in the basement.. i was in the van comming home from work on south I95 and we got the weather alert that a tornado had been spotted in massaponax moving due north..straight for stafford.
we pulled in the lot and dropped off the riders. i was driving down garrisonville rd west.. many of you have been on that road that went to skyline.. watching to the south.... low and behold.....thar she was folks... plain as day. a low black cloud trailing the end of a dark gray one... the funnel dipping down...touching and rising back up....comming straight for me.... and guess what !!!!? the #### idiot yankee drivers on garrisonville road started braking and slowing down staring at the damn thing!!!!! im honkin my horn....flashing lights ...trying to get people to get going...get outta the path!!.. i whipped out in the opposite lane of traffic when the coast was clear and passed 5 cars... turned onto raintree bld...almost stood the van on two wheels.... turned in my court.... looked to see the d@m# thing about a block north of my house....and still had 200 yrds to go....ran into the house and down to the basement with mary, keona, reno, and shelby.....mary was monitoring the computer on the weather channel...... "whats the matter she said"..... i said "get ready"....
we heard loud winds......and then quiet... it went just to our north..right at the end of our court....but had sucked back up..never touched down.....
unreal.......
still nothing compared to what the folks in fl and al went thru....but unreal.
