after the install of headers and off road pipe are the oxygen sensors imparative to the car being able to run correctly?

Without the sims (or programming the after-cat sensors out of the PCM) you will be staring at the SES light all the time. The performance of the car won't be affected, but that means you will never know when there is a "real problem" also causing the SES light.Fred

The pre-cat oxygen sensors are needed. They basically monitor how the engine's running. The after-cat oxygen sensors just monitor the efficiency of the cats, so you don't need those if you gut the cat or remove them.1991 Chevy Camaro RS (Is it plum or purple?)
