Before my other post dissappears, about the o2 sensonr and sims......Ok I understand the o2 sims, but in the addition of my lt's and off road pipe the oxy sensors were set aside by someone I can not get a hold of and I am not sure which ones would go where if I had to put them all back except the rear passenger side one with the clip that goes onto the body of the car. If I just threw the 2 sensors in could that affect performance if the the oxy sens were on the wrong sides and back o2 being used as front sensors?
I am getting some backfiring, there is a good size exhaust leak between exhaust and the off road pipe, might that cause some poping?

You need two good pre-cat O2 sensors to control the engine fuel. You need to make sure you used the harness connectors for the pre-cat sensors. They are a different shape connector for the pre-cat and post-cat sensors, in order to prevent you from connecting them wrong. But if you remove all 4 sensors, then put two of them back in and connected them up, I suppose its possible you have the wrong ones connected.

I don't know the LS1 cars well enough to know the shape of the pre- and post- O2 harness connectors.... maybe someone else who has an LS1 could help you out.

An exhaust leak generally only hurts you if it is before the O2 sensors. Your leak sounds like it is after the pre-cat sensor. But if it even nearby, its possible you are getting some bad readings from the sensor.
