high mileage oil

anyone switched to the high mileage oil? any problems or anything good? i was thinking about it the other day. i have a 94 with 113K

i was also think about synthetic geal oil, called red line. anyone use it or heard of it?

i was considering tryin the high mileage oil i have a 1999 with a lil over 113,000 on it i got it with 98,000 something in March for only like $3,400 so yea i wasnt too worried bout the miles at the time..id also like to know if anyone has tried the high mileage oil and whether its worth it or any difference at all

High mileage oil works on older/worn motors by swelling up the seals. If you have no oil consumption nor burn any oil, I would recommend sticking to normal oil. Also, if you switch to synthetic and you have an oil leak (even the slightest) the synthetic oil MIGHT have the tendency to leak out quicker than conventional. For the LT1s, it has been recommended to use German Castrol 0w30.

I believe it's at Autozone, but I've never tried it, nor seen it. Patman, the oil expert at camaroz28 said it's perfect for our engines. It is a "true synthetic" (unlike what has been said about the American Castrol Syntec) and shows no signs of thinning after 4-5k. It supposedly comes in a bright green container, and I know it's not cheap. That's about all I know.
