  • Lifter Question

Just a thought, concerning Comp R lifters.

As I'm adjusting my rockers, if I press on the back side of a rocker, directly above the pushrod, how easily should I be able to compress the lifter, if at all???

Reason I ask is because while mulling over my car (what I do when I can't work on it) I thought this may be a cause for concern as there were a couple which compressed quite easily.

they are hydraulic lifters, i assume you are not "pressing on the rockers" with the engine running......... soooooooooooooo

you dont have any oil pressure in them.......

Right, but I'm wondering just how easily they should compress. I can think of one (#3 Intake, not that it matters) that was very easy to compress. As I was setting the pre-load, it just didn't feel like the rest.
