4L60E guys in here please
i thought i had a bad universal joint, so i bought a new one and took the drive shaft out. they both feel fine. so i started playin with stuff to see what was loose, the diff feels fine, but the transmission output shaft can be moved top to bottem or left to right about 1/4 inch. i am thinking hte output shaft bearing is bad. if so can i replace it with the tranny in the car? do i just have to pop off the tail shaft and have that bearing replaced? does it press on or in? or can i do it in my garage? i have rebuilt a transfer case before but never any thing in a tranny. thanks
