  • What color(s) do you like on early 4th gen Camaros?

At first I was going to paint my car black and white pearl with purple flakes. I have basically given up on the all pearl with purple flake idea, to much money to use as a Daily Driver. So now I have few options. I can either repaint the car arctic white/black (original color) or I can paint it a different color. Some of the colors I have been looking at are colors like Arrival Blue, the 2004 Chevrolet Lemans special edition corvette blue, Victory Red, and just plain old arctic white. So what colors do you think would look good on an early model Camaro? Please no 10K paint job ideas, like said this will be a daily driver.

if your gonna go with artic white, you need to get a hood of some sort. the stock z hood looks terrible on a white car, IMO. If it werent for the orange strips on my old one i would have never bought a white z. also if you going to go that white, do it all, door handles, the roof panel, mirrors. it looks awesome that way. i also liked the white rims with the white car. it looked hot.

I gotta agree with Ken on the all white. I Saw a Z28 the other day, all white, even the headlight area. It looked really good.

I would say White or black. Those are the only two colors I really care for.

I think you should get the grey-green color that TraceZ has on his Z-28. That color is HOT!! But what ever color you get done, make sure its a decent paint shop, my friend got his truck repainted after an accident and now about three years later, the door is peeling pretty badly. Well good luck with it.

              This color?
I get a ton of compliments on that car every time I drive it. I get kids on the sidewalk yelling "nice car" at me and women I work with are strangely drawn to it. I've *never* seen another f-body the same color as mine.

It looks great sitting on the beach with the turquoise water behind it, too.

I've never been a big fan of white. I prefer darker colors so you get good glossy reflections and see the contrast between the light reflections and dark reflections. White seems to show fewer reflections, and thus looks more plain. I'd take any color over white. I also like the medium patriot red metallic I had on my old 95 t-top car. It was kind of like a burgundy color.

Just rembember with black, to get it done right they will have to make sure there are not dent waves or iregular things on the body. Black shows EVERYTHING! every scratch, scuff, ding, dent and blemish. I love black. But it usually costs more to get it done. Also it will cost more to have the car painted a new color because they now have to paint every peice of visible metal. Requires more removal of items from the car as you cant tape off anything for fear of teltale lines of the previous paint.

I'll throw in a biased vote for white. I fully agree that the stock Z28 hood looks very plain, even though that is what I have. Additonally, I have always been a big fan of the black canopy of the earliest Z28s. In fact, I never could understand why people would pay more in 95+ to get the canopy color keyed. I always thought that the uni-color contributed to the "plainness" similar to the effect of the hood.

Artic white, black canopy, black bra (I know, not good for the paint, but breaks up the boring hood), black Vette Grand Sport wheels, darkest legal tint available. I like!

Although my 96 Z looks great when its all shined up (its black) when you get up close there right it shows EVERYTHING. mine even has black sharpe from being vadelized at my wifes job. . I like the new Blue that is on C5 vetts the is a hot color.

P.S anyone know how to get sharpe off paint?

I will soon be purchasing a Tahoe for a daily driver so I can start building my dream F-Body. Probably last on the list of to-dos, but I will paint it black with lime green metalflake stripes. My Tahoe will be black, my jet skiis al are painted the black and lime flake scheme, and of course my MX bikes are Kawasakis. Just my .02!!!!
Of course I would be very upset if I saw you with this on your car, but I think any exotic colored stripes on black looks sweet.

You could try zippo fluid on the sharpe marks, wont harm paint but gets pretty much everything else.
