I finally made it to the track with my new set up, but it wasn't so good. I tried launching at 5000 rpms (NA) and the car peeled out for about 5 feet and bogged BAD with my hoosier 27x10.5x15 and 13psi. Next time up I tried at 5500(NA), still fell on its face. I was running 13.6-13.7 @ 103(NA). Any suggestions? Oh yea, I'm getting rid of my centerforce and getting a spec stage three because it slipped bad with nitrous. Here is a funny story, My first run with nitrous I ran using a 50 shot to a 75 shot over 1.5 seconds. That was my best time of the night, 11.91 @ 120 with a 2.0 60' time with smoke rolling off of the tires through first gear. When I used the 100 shot and 150 shot, my times didn't improve and I lost 3 or 4 mph, hmmm could my clutch be slipping? I think so. I will definatley be installing some adjustable shocks along with my clutch and skinnies this winter. Anyways, please help on the launch without nitrous or explain, I'm very frustrated. Thanks guys!

I can't say I'm an expert at launching with DR's but it almost sounds like you need to feather the clutch out a little more. I worked with a guy over summer who has an old GTO that he runs 10's with. It is completly a track car but he was explaining to me that he holds it around 4000-4500 rpms and just feathers it out while adding more gas to try to keep it at that same rpm the whole time. Every car is different and has that one point that it seems to hook best at. If your going to replace your clutch I'd recommend practicing some launches first with the old one so you don't tear your new one up right away.1994 Firebird Formula, M6, Fan switch, 160 thermostat, Pacesetter LT headers, Morosso CAI, TB bypass, True duals.

A Hoosier 27x10.5x15 sounds like too much tire for the power you are making N/A. There are guys hooking up just fine with a 28x10.5 putting 2000 HP to the tire!
You probably need a tire with much less rollout and a narrower section width. A 26x9 or a 26x10 should be plenty for your power levels considering good track prep and conditions.
