  • installed loudmouth last night on my 94 Z

man is it loud, definately not legal around here. the install went pretty good, every thing fit where it needed to, and slid right together. i ended up not using the SLP install kit, and built my own S-pipe instead. i think in my case it worked out better that way, seeing as i have no cat, and ended up building the "testpipe" right into my new Spipe. its loud, looks good from the back and underneith. ill put pics up as soon as i get home.

Sweet, glad it worked out for you. I love the sound on mine...sounds vicious, like some of the classic muscle machines . Have someone drive past you on the freeway in your Z while you're in another car...it sounds wickedly cool. Got to hear it when I brought the GN home this weekend...I needed a new pair of shorts lol

Is it louder than a cut out. Because I have a cut out that is located right before the muffler. Any ideas....
      thanks tom

I don't think so, I think the cut-out is probably louder. It would def. be louder if the cut-out was before the cat...it would sound like open-header . While the LoudMouth is loud, its not that loud...thank heavens lol

i would venture to say that it is almost as loud as open headers. no comparo between it and a flowmaster. wolfman has it right on the money, exersise caution around the man, like pop it in N and coast by, if ones behind you, pull off fast. its LOUD

Its not as loud as a cut-out, believe me. I believe what Ken is saying is that the cut-out is louder. I heard a 93 with a cut-out...no comparison. Pull the Y-pipe off your car and start it sometime...that's about what the cut-out sounds like, just somewhat quieter (but not much). While the LoudMouth is loud, and you should definitely exercise caution around the cops, a cut-out can be very bad news if you're caught.

My cut-out is super loud. I always put it into neutral around cops. I just wonder if the cops would just look and see a muffler and go bout their business or if they would really investigate it. Anyway, I will not take the chance.

Not crazy about the sound of the Loudmouth. Way too loud. I like deep grumbles with a nice tone at WOT. A kid around here with a white camaro like mine has one.. You can hear him 4 blocks away, literally.

Ummmm, have you heard the LM at idle? It doesn't get much deeper than that on a cat-back. As for WOT, it doesn't sound that bad either, IMHO. But, maybe that's just me

i love it too, my neighbors are all yuppie prudes, if i go 27 mph down the road they all yell SLOW DOWN, ive even had one of them burn out in his pick up then call the sherrif and told him he saw me do it, after i explained that the camaro was a posi, it was taken care of from there. so i work at 5 am an hour away, i am looking forward to those nice 4 am drives down my road. i get all kinds of crap because i work on a lot of cars at my house, but nice ones, corvettes, vipers, DSM's, nice cars with nothing to hide, and they are all jealous. funny part is that i dont even drive like a menace. i figure if i dont give them any legimate leg to stand on then i am one up on them.

                        so in that

                          azkkn,
I have a neighbor just like that. I always drive slow down our street and never get on it. I too leave early in the morning for the gym and she is always complaining bout it. It also really helps that the guy I drive around with owns a Shelby Kit Car(very loud) and he happens to be the chief detective. The whole police department knows me and just laugh at the old lady. Right now I have a cut-out, but LM is tops on the to-do list. I routinely work on cars for friends or family (never for a fee), but she even recently filed a compaint that I operated a repair shop out of my garage without a permit. I am glad others have experienced this and I am not the only one. Good Luck!

i got one of the first ones on the LT1, right after slp came out with them.

i was driving down our main drag.... some cheerleaders were in the medial strip jumping up and down advertising a high school car wash.... as i passed them...i stomped her in 2nd....(in the lt4hot cammed Comp T/A)..... 3 screemed and threw thier pom poms up......they didnt know what hit em... the started laughing as i waved out the t tops....

i had a ball with that thing..

the ricers would pull up next to me.... and you could see em listening at the "woomp......woomp......woomp" of the idle at the light....... i would just coldly stare straight ahead....... the light would change....and the ricer would sit there.....i would just ease on off.....leave it in first for while.......... he just sat there... more than once.... stangs too.....

                            hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

                            yes....the Loud mouth rules.........

get some of the folks here thats been to the skyline drive events i held to tell you what it sounded like comming up the mountains, 52 or more f bodies....half of em with loudmouths..... the drawback? nobody saw any wildlife the rest of the day, including the tourists.....all the animals headed for cover......

Everytime I pull up to or leave my dad's house or Craig 94 TA GT's house, they always tell me they can tell I'm pulling up and they hear me echoing down the neighborhood. I love the sound sooooooo much, I don't think I could see the car with another system. Even just starting the car everyone stops and looks. I love it soooo much lol
