  • A little zaino trouble..

OK, I got zfx, z5, and z6. I fill the 2oz container with z5 then put 3 or 4 drops of zfx in the bottle and shake vigorously for 2 or 3 mins. I go front to back on hood, top and back and down on the sides and everything else. Ok questoin when u guys zaino ur cars when the zaino hazes is it like one uniform thickness sheet cuz mine is all the same thiickness but it hazes in lines. Damn its hard to explain this, ill put it like this, u can see where i go down with the cotton pad each time. I hope u guys konw what i mean. And also the zaino streaks some,, do i have to go back and use z6 after each coat of zaino z5 to get the streaks out, or can i z5 it 3 times then after the third coat go back and z6 all the streaks out?
thanks i know this is kinda hard to understand, i wish i had a digi camera

You are supposed to use Z6 between each coat. It prepares the surface to properly bond with the next coat. I've never had problems with streaks.

I don't see a bright future here for BOB unless he can learn to play nicely.

In response to Pure Power's post, it sounds to me like your applicator pad is too wet when you are applying the polish. I tend to have the same streaking problem when i get the pad too wet. I haven't had the opportunity to use the ZFX yet, so I'm not totally sure on this, but you might try using a little less Z6 or water on the pad....if you are using either. I hope this helps....if not try shooting a PM to Ken..he's the resident expert here on Zaino.

if its streaking, then you are applying it to thick and its not cured completely when you are taking it off. zfx mixed with z2 or z5 is very very rich. it has to go on very thin.

z6 does not have to be applied between coats. it does "prepare" the surface or polished surface for the next coat. thats what z1 or zfx mix does. z6 is a gloss enhancer and quick detailer.

i use distilled water when i get a streak. it takes it right out.

put it on very very thin broh...the polish...real thin.

One more thing Ken didn't mention. Are you using Zaino's pad to apply your polish? That pad is superior to anything you can buy in a store and it always puts the Zaino down nice and even for me (my car is black).

Yea i do use the zaino pad. I put a sqirt of z5 down the end of the pad. How many swipes down the car is it for u guys before u have to put more zaino on the pad?

Maybe a better way to answer your question is when I do my Camaro I can easily get two coats out of the two ounces of Z2 and ZFX that I mix up in the little bottles...........and I still have a little left over. As Ken said, only put a small amount on your pad at a time.......(the size of a dime).....and polish with that until its almost gone......your goal should be to put down as thin a coat of Zaino as possible.

I like to leave it on overnight before buffing off. Trying to remove it before the product is completely dry will also leave streaks.

OK well i just got done with the 5th coat. I let it dry for about an hour. It streaked but i just wiped the car down with distilled water and now i konw what u guys are talking aobut. This stuff is the $@*!. The T/A looks great, i guess i just didnt think it looked that good because i was looking at iher in the dark garage. I put her out in the sun and she look mean. And SS camaro guy, I fill the 2oz bottle up about 4/5 of the way and i get 3+ coats out of it. I do the whole car 3 times and the hood, front clip and front fenders 4 times. all with not even a full bottle. So i do put it on pretty thin.

like joe said... i leave it on a long time.

once, i left it on for a week when i went out of town. and put the car cover on it in the garage. man.....it came off so easy...and left a nice fine film inside the car cover too...made the cover sliiiiiiiiide on ..with now spiderwebbing.
