  • Buying an F-body

got myself enough money to buy a new car (woooot). I got 2 options, WS6 '02, or a '02 camaro SS.

besides looks, is there anythign different about them in performance?

btw, im new to the boards

If i'm not mistaken, the WS6 has the...well...WS6 suspension. I don't think the camaro does. I also think that the hood on the SS is non-functional (not sure though) Other then that, i think they are twins.

There's really no performance difference in the two cars, per se. It's up to what your preferences are. The SS will be marginally cheaper than the WS6, but the WS6 OWNS the SS in style.

No performance differences, but the WS6 is much better looking I think.

Buy which ever one appeals to you. Some folks like SS's and some like Firebirds and if you can find a Firehawk, that's even rarer. Check out the interiors too to see which one you like. And be sure to look at the "second content" sticker on the passenger door if it's an SS or a Firehawk. That will tell you what SLP Engineering put on the cars when they were ordered...........and you could order all kinds of options with either car. Many cars are just "base" content but some have all kinds of options. For example, on the SS you could order dual/duals, an auburn rear axle, SLP/Bilstein suspension, Center mounted exhaust, etc. The cars with the higher SLP content will generally be more desirable.

If you have any more questions, fire away. Someone here can answer them that's for sure.

THanks for ur info. Anyone know for sure if the scoop is functional? One problem is that I live in Maine, so it will be dang hard to find a WS6 for sale. and for looks... I like the front of the SS better but I like the back of the WS6 better lol...

Basically, neither hoodscoop is functional. Unless you consider 3 extra HP at 100 mph "functional"

Both hood scoops on the SS and the T/A are functional.

I'd go for the bird, but thats just because I've owned 6 Camaros now and wouldnt mind a change.

What's funny is that there was a pic of an f-body like that a while back. Someone actually had a Camaro front end from the fenders to the front bumper, and a T/A rear from the doors and beyond to the big wing. I can't seem to find the pic.

As far as your purchase goes, I would recommend the T/A, but I'm biased

                          Check This Out

hey man... go with the T/A WS6

Here is a good deal I think. I have been drooling over this for about 2 weeks. I would love to get it my self but its not affordable at this point in time.

I would to see it go to someone on this board. It might be a bit of a drive for yah but I think it would be worth it. Check into it bro!!

                          Nice T/A WS6

                            26 K ?!?!?!?!

That isn't a good deal. That isn't even CLOSE to a good deal! Low mileage is one thing, but $26,000 is another. No way, bro.

When I was trying to sell my 02 WS6, I would have been lucky to get $18K for it. Granted, I have 42K miles on the clock, but that doesn't make up for $8,000.

Well I thought it WAS but i guess i was shown different. no big deal though... Ill keep looking. I have found a few 02 firhawks for around 20 to 22 g's... hows that??? i just thought it was a good deal cuz of the low miles. I did find one in canada that had like 100 miles on it for roughly the same price... is that a good deal???

                              thanks jay
