Are dynojet numbers much higher than Mustang Dynos? Percentage? I put 510rwhp, what would those numbers be on a dynojet? Roughly?

    thanks guys

    NICE numbers!!!

That would be significantly higher on a Dynojet

Dynojets actually read lower than Mustangs. Depending on who you ask, Mustang's numbers are "inflated", much like the performance numbers of the corresponding Ford cars

        Other way around.

There was an interesting article in Hot Rod magazine several months ago, comparing 5 different dyno systems using the same car - unfortunately they picked a HP challenged 4.6L SOHC Mustang GT. The Mustang dyno produced lower "standard correction" numbers than the Dynojet, but only by about 7.8HP (226.9HP on the Dynojet, 219.1 on the Mustang). Torque numbers for the Mustang dyno were WAY lower.... 269.3 lb-ft on the Dynojet, 239.3 lb-ft on the Mustang. If you figure about a 3.5% HP difference based on the above, you might have made 528HP on a Dynojet.

There is no magic in a chassis dyno.... it is an APPROXIMATION. Different dynos use different methods to measure the HP, and its very easy to fudge the results, so they look good on the graph they hand to you. You can throw the HP off by how you align the wheels on the roller, how tight you tie it down, how much air you put in the tires, etc. A dyno is no more than an "approximation". Very useful for comparing your current mods to a previous configuration, but not very useful in comparing two different cars on two different dynos.
