  • NFB - Cool B2 video

We got a really cool video of the B2 a few days ago from the prime. Unfortunately it is too big for me to host at 186 meg. so I cut one section out and posted it. It is 30.2 meg so it's not for dialup. Here is the link http://www.claire-marie.net/B2.mpg . Enjoy Oh, and pay attention to how appropriate the words to the song are for the B2.

Glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was too. 10 people downloaded it yesterday according to the stats. I don't know who but I hope they liked it too.

While the song is fitting, I think I'm a little too young to appreciate it fully lol. Definitely a cool video though.

funny thing .. the enemy has caught on to the stealth idea.. what they do is use a couple of radar stations and cross-overlay their detection area. The hole that remains, well, is the stealth plane... and the hole appears to be moving

I love watching that plane in action! Do you by any chance have the stats for this plane, Jeff? Top speed, height abilities....etc.

About 4 years ago when I was 14 I sat beside a guy on a regular jet dressed in an Air Force outfit. He told me he was a stealth fighter pilot and said they are actually really boring to fly. He said you just punch in the coordinates take off then let the plane get you there and bring you back. He said there actually not that fast its just the whole fact that there "invisible"...but who knows he could have been a cook just giving a kid some story lol.

I'm sure the specs are classified.

Interesting. I wondered about what you said so I went to one of our microwave engineers and asked him about this. (the company I work for makes radar stuff). This guy has a PHD in microwave design. He said that with a radar, it is always looking into a hole. It's not till it gets a signal reflected back to the radar that it knows anything is there. It doesn't matter how many radars looks at it, get a signal back to cross reference with another radar.

Radars have a frequency dial on them and can be used at several frequencies. Now what could happen is to set up several radars all on the same frequency looking to get any scatter microwaves from another transmitter. The chances of getting any aren't real good unless the plane gets near in-between two of the sites. Now if someone reinvented a radar where the receiver is looking to receive the signal from another transmitter and all of a sudden the signal stops then starts back, you would know that something interrupted the beam. The problem with that is it has to fly directly between the receiver and the transmitter and setting up a network that large would be impossible.

There might be a way to do something with radar from a satalite but it would take a lot of power to do it and I better not get into that.

If you know where you read that and can post a link or something, I'd like to take it to the doctor here.
